Prepare. Present. Progress

A 3-week online programme for artists who want to prepare stronger applications for funding, residencies, solo exhibitions and other professional opportunities.

You've found an opportunity that feels right for you.

Then you open the application form.

And suddenly you're faced with questions about your project, your practice, your aims, your budget, your audience, your images and your experience.

Where do you start?
How do you make sure the application actually communicates the quality of the work you're proposing?

Get Chosen is a practical three-week programme designed to help you approach applications with greater clarity, confidence and professionalism because getting the opportunity isn't just about making good work. It's about being able to communicate why your work matters, what you're proposing, and why you are the right person to deliver it.

What You'll Learn

Over three live sessions, we'll work through the key elements that can make the difference between an application that simply ticks the boxes and one that gives a selector a reason to take notice.
Developing your proposal
Learn how to turn an idea into a clear, focused proposal that communicates what you want to do and why it matters.
Communicating your practice
Learn how to present your work, experience and intentions in a way that supports the opportunity you're applying for.
Writing with purpose
Move beyond trying to find the "right" words and learn how to communicate your ideas clearly, confidently and in your own voice.
Presenting your work
Consider how your images and supporting material work together to communicate the quality and relevance of your practice.
Tailoring your application
Understand why a strong application isn't simply a generic description of your work copied into every form.
Bringing it all together
Develop a more organised and repeatable approach to applications so that you're not starting from zero every time an opportunity appears.
